Writing sample Grade 5-2

Three times per year the students compose a personal narrative writing sample. They write the samples at the beginning, middle, and end of the year. We have just completed our second writing sample. To create a shared class experience the students had to make a paper air plane. They then competed to see which air plane could fly the greatest distance. This provided a rich experience for the students to then write about.
